a EGR encurta a vida do motor, é a CAT que diz!!!!

Isto já tem algum tempo, mas dei com esta informacao hoje. Afinal a EGR pode encurtar a vida de um motor...!?

Ive probably said this before but CAT, after spending a billion bucks, on EGR systems came to the conclusion that EGR shortens engine life, increases maintenace and increases fuel consumption. They then went a found a proper engineering solution to the emmisions hoopla; twin turbos, high boost, electronic injectors and massive aftercooling to meet Euro IV, to meet Euro V they will have an urea injection system (marketing mod call it "AdBlue") to neutralise nitroux oxides. Exhausts post urea injection are stainles due its corrosive nature when in contact with mild steel.

Just make sure when he kills the (insert repeated adjectives here) system, be sure he also disables the Intake Restrictor Butterfly. Other here may have pics for a 4.2 but for me it was a simple as plugging the vacuum hose that runs to the assembly.

"Cat continued to dismiss cooled EGR, indicating that by taking unfiltered exhaust gas and putting it back into the engine, acid and soot can be deposited on engine surfaces, causing premature wear and reducing engine durability and reliability. The company said it performed several engine teardowns, comparing ACERT engines to competitive products equipped with cooled EGR. "
